Peningkatan Kesadaran Hukum Masyarakat dalam Mencegah Tindak Pidana di Lingkungan Desa
Abstract
Community legal awareness is an important factor in creating a safe, orderly, and conducive village environment. Villages are not merely places where social activities take place, but also important spaces for developing legal culture through interactions among village governments, community leaders, families, and residents. Limited legal knowledge, inadequate understanding of rights and obligations, informal settlement of disputes without considering legal provisions, and insufficient legal education may increase vulnerability to criminal offenses. This article aims to analyze strategies for improving community legal awareness as a preventive measure against criminal offenses in rural areas. This study employs normative juridical research using statutory and conceptual approaches. Legal materials are analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The findings indicate that improving legal awareness cannot be achieved merely by formally disseminating regulations, but must focus on developing legal knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and behavior. Strategies include needs-based legal counseling, establishment of law-aware community groups, strengthening the roles of village governments and community leaders, improving criminal reporting mechanisms, legal education for vulnerable groups, and utilizing digital media as a means of legal literacy. Such preventive approaches should be implemented continuously through cooperation among law enforcement agencies, village governments, community institutions, universities, and local residents.
